An advisory council is a group of people appointed to review the counseling program at Martin GT Magnet Middle School, review results and to make recommendations. The counseling department welcomes students, parents, teachers, administration, and community members to be represented on the council. Please contact Student Services if you would like to join our CASS Advisory Council. Your participation is invaluable in creating a strong support for your middle school student!!!
The Martin Gifted and Talented Magnet Middle School Counseling and Student Services Department provides a distinctive, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate counseling program for middle school students that addresses their academic, personal/social, and career domains in accordance with the ASCA standards. In collaboration with community partners, support personnel, parents/guardians, and other educators, all students are provided diverse learning experiences that cultivate their individual gifts and talents in order to be prepared for future contributions in a global society in the 21st century.

Legislative Day 2017 is Tuesday, March 14, 2017
Each year the North Carolina School Counselor Association (NCSCA) hosts its Legislative Day in Raleigh at the North Carolina State Legislative Building. Legislative Day provides a wonderful opportunity for counselors to learn about public policy affecting school counselors and education. It is their goal to educate state legislators about NCSCA, American School Counselor Association (ASCA), and the school counseling profession. NCSCA and its members also seek to deepen their understanding of the legislative processes and to network with senators and representatives from regions and districts in North Carolina..
